ITOI symbolizes the circle of life?the fabric of society that ties everything together. Included are the concepts of friendship, eternity, nature and happiness. Japanese craftsmen spin the fine cashmere yarn and artisans meticulously craft the finest knitwear, so the customer can experience a warm sense of happiness as they slip on a garment that is so distinctively ITOI. The common thread that ties together craftsmanship and luxurious satisfaction is ITOI. These unseen ties bind us together, creating an ongoing tapestry of life. ITOI, together.

About ITOI

ITOI is a cashmere knitwear collection born out of collaboration between TOYOBOSHI, a Japanese spinning company with a history dating back to 1879, and YURI PARK, an Italian knitwear studio that has been located in Milan for more than 20 years.

The story begins with Yuri Park, who was residing in Italy, being captivated by the rich textures and skilled spinning techniques of TOYOBOSHI's cashmere yarns.

ITOI was released in 2010 on the Japanese domestic market, featuring both yarn and garments made in Japan. Since then ITOI has continued to charm with these cashmere yarns, which include Baby Cashmere, Alashan Cashmere, and Erlangshan Cashmere.

YURI PARK DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Happiness Comes from Wearing Knitwear

Knitwear that you can see and feel has an inherent value that transcends the physical.
Being aesthetically pleasing can satisfy people, but real value and joy is found in the unseen realm.
The true essence of knitwear lies in its ability to touch the heart and bring warmth to both the wearer and those around them.
The beauty of knitwear is expressed in its ability to be knitwear.
YURI PARK's knitwear speaks to people's hearts, and it gains character the more it's worn.
This permeates the heart and body, arousing deeper affection for the garment.
Such knitwear matures with the wearer, bringing richness to their heart.
Gratitude for nature's blessings and love for one other.
This passion for knitwear is YURI PARK.

TOYOBOSHI CASHMERE YARN

TOYOBOSHI, the company that produces ITOI's cashmere yarn, is one of the most reputable spinning companies in Japan and is the successor to Kuwanohara Spinning Factory, the birthplace of Japan's fiber industry that was founded in 1879. They were the first in Japan to begin producing high quality cashmere yarns in 1930, a tradition they have continued for nearly 100 years. Throughout the long years, they have honed their ability to select the best raw materials, and have developed a spinning technique that preserves the inherent qualities of cashmere without damaging the fibers. The unique texture and expression of cashmere knitwear is a testament to the craftsmanship that embodies the history and tradition of cashmere, passed down from hand to hand and from generation to generation by skilled Japanese artisans.

Baby Cashmere is obtained exclusively from the downy wool of cashmere goats that are younger than 12 months old.*

Our Baby Cashmere is truly one of a kind, boasting a superior feel, texture and presence compared with regular cashmere. It is sourced exclusively from the eastern regions of Inner Mongolia, where the arrival of spring is early and winter is late, making it the most suitable area for collecting cashmere wool. We have established a joint project with a reputable company with a proven track history in the area, making us one of only a handful of companies in the world to secure an exclusive supply contract to bring the finest quality cashmere down to the world.

*Why younger than 12 months? TOYOBOSHI Baby Cashmere uses downy wool from kids that have not experienced winter since being born, primarily those younger than six months old. Cashmere wool is collected every year in July, and because kids may be born any time from December to April, all goats are younger than 12 months old when their wool is collected for Baby Cashmere.

Alashan Cashmere comes exclusively from cashmere goats born and raised in the Alxa League of China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Renowned for many years as the finest cashmere with the best texture in China, each year Alashan cashmere commands the highest prices due to its exceptionally high quality and rarity. What makes it so incredibly smooth and luxurious is its average fineness of approximately 15 microns. It's no wonder it's called the "cashmere of cashmeres."

Inner Mongolia, a well-known and esteemed cashmere producing region, is vast in size [roughly three times the size of Japan], but its top-quality cashmere goats can only be found in limited, specific areas within its vast landscape. Erlangshan goats are a breed born and raised in some northern parts of western Inner Mongolia and are certified as one of the three top-quality cashmere goat breeds in western Inner Mongolia, along with Alashan and Albas.
